Acoustic Album of the week!



Ok who is Josh Kelley? He is " the guy who married the Greys anatomy actress.... which one? the one with the boobs. "
And before he got married to boobalicious Katherine Heigl, he was actually one of my favorite vocalists/singer songwriters. I still think he has better tone than John Mayer and a very good head for bluesy melodies. Oh yes, this is the woman he gets to play doctor and patient with every day.





So Itunes announced his new acoustic effort is out this week and i for one am really happy. He hasn't released a whole lot of covers or acoustic version so to get your hands on a 10 song introduction to his work makes sense. It starts out with my favorite song from his most recent album released this year, "2 cups of coffee" (added in the imeem player) and quicky races through some of his best material over 3 albums and about 8 years. The thing with Josh is he is very very consistent. You wont hardly find a bad song on his album but you also wont really smell the single either. Some of his most memorable work is missing on this release in favour of more commercially played tracks and that is a tad disappointing for fans all over the world.

His most outstanding quality is his vocal tone and below is a clip of him singing dry with a guitar in hand performing "Tidal Wave". Very yummy. He wrote a few songs like this on his 2003 release "For the ride home" such as "Amen" and "Angels" where it's just him and a piano / guitar and his rich layered tone is mesmerizing. Unfortunately, he will probably go down in history as " the guy who married the greys anatomy actress. which one? the one with the boobs. "
